Given that companies seek patent protection in various parts of the world to protect their markets, patents are being filed in a variety of languages which utilize diverse scripts. This adds an additional wrinkle in executing patent searches and ensuring that they are comprehensive.
We have integrated Google Translate into Relecura to machine translate patent text. You can now read patent documents (that feature full text data) in over 80 different languages. Machine translation algorithms have improved substantially over the years. Some even have a self-learning aspect, such that the accuracy of the output improves with every translation carried out. We have activated this feature for our existing customers and would love to receive feedback.
